Can you break in a mitt from a long time ago?

I've done this alot when I was younger. Push the glove inside out with the pocket now on the outside. Then curl it up in a tight circle and tie a rope or some string around it to keep it in a circle. Then, park your car on it overnight. This should only take one maybe two nights to loosen the leather up. Catch with it as much as possible. Also, you can buy glove oil and Beeswax to help preserve it.....
