Is 'ragging' occurs in USA colleges?

Ragging is essentially unknown in the USA. There is a mild form called "Hazing" that a person is subject to if they join a fraternity. However, ragging as conducted in India and other countries to all freshmen is considered ault in the USA and anyone who does ragging where they touch another student in any way is subject to expulsion and they may end up in prison. There may be some verbal remarks made but even this is not tolerated if is is very strong.
