Why do some people ume the ual abuse crisis is a Catholic thing?

It's a popular sport to attack Catholics. Try that with the Jews or Muslims and you'll probably end up in a bad way. It is pure nonsense to think that the Catholic Church is the only one that has had clergy misbehave or that they are the only ones to try to cover up the issue. No church denomination understood the depth of the seriousness of pedophilia years ago. And most of the cases surfacing today go back 30 and 40 years! It was seen as a moral lapse rather than a criminal act. Now we all know better. But the problem has affected all churches not just Catholics.
